Friday Treat : Levoit LTF-F362 Tower Fan
Better than a Dyson? Also I do know it's not Friday - I pressed the wrong button so might as well let it run!
I know we complain about the cold and then we complain about the heat – or at least I do. I did a post for paid subs on how heat saps my energy and I’m a shade seeker these days. I served my time with the tin foil and the carrot oil like all good 70’s and 80’s kids did, burning my stomach so badly that I couldn’t sit up for a couple of days. My friend Diane spent a heroic 48 hours slathering me in cold towels and ice wrapped in a flannel. Even that didn’t put me off sun seeking. Anyway, I’m not part of the SPF mafia – everyone knows that you need to protect your skin and nobody needs another lecture on it. This post is about the new fan we have just bought which is an absolute revelation and I can’t recommend it highly enough.
We already have a Dyson fan – two in fact. One desk top - the Dyson Cool™ CF1 fan which is £249 HERE (formerly bedroom, now spare room,) and one tower - the Dyson AM07 HERE, currently with £150 off making it a cool £269 (sitting room) and they’re both excellent. If you have the budget, they are worth it, especially the tower because it gives a noticeably chilled breeze. They both do, actually, but we’ve been using the desk version in our bedroom and it can’t quite hit the mark for something it’s not supposed to be able to do anyway. However, the unbecomingly named Levoit LTF-F362 Tower Fan most certainly does. If I was going to invent a fan I’d put more effort into the name – the Cyclone Maker or such. Ice Blast, Heat Slayer or maybe just the Hurricane. I’m not sure I could just release it on the sweaty with the name LTF-F365. I was keen to get another Dyson tower but DH was less so and decided that he’d quietly order our friend, the LTF-F365, based on a Which report which gave it nothing but praise. And, it’s £71, not even hitting the £100 mark.
We spent our first night with LTF-F365 on Monday and what a blissful night that was. This fan has all the functionality of a Dyson – oscillation, advanced sleep mode, indicators etc and looks better too, in my view because it’s not so bulky. In honesty, like everything, it has too many control options that we’ll never use but for the basics, such as actual fanning, it’s pretty simple. We looked at quite a lot of fan reviews and all the tech mags complained that their fancy fans didn’t come with an app – it is a bonus not to have to faff with an app in the middle of the night. LTF-F365, set at speed 8 from the familiar territory of a remote control, blew a cooling breeze over our bed all night long, not silently but certainly soothingly. In fact, we could keep the lightweight duvet on – some people, including me, find it hard to sleep with no kind of cover - so that was an absolute bonus. LT, as I’m calling it now because we are on familiar and friendly terms, is cooling comfort plus and then some. You can see it working on the link below.

The air that it sends out is cool – not like air con cool – but cool enough that it makes a big difference to the temperature of the room. The top speed is 12 and I swear it ruffled the duvet – certainly the curtains moved. So to the original question, is LT better than a Dyson and I say yes - it’s providing a exceptional level of cooling air, it does more or less what the Dyson does (I mean, I’m not that interested in HEPA scores, etc so in a way, Dyson overperforms for what most people need), it’s lightweight so easy to move around (the Dyson weighs a tonne) and slender for easy storage in the winter when we are all complaining about the cold again. Is it as technically advanced as a Dyson? No. Is it as quiet as a Dyson? No. Will it keep you as cool as a Dyson? Yes. Buying this fan isn’t straightforward - as I write there are only two left in stock HERE but there are alternatives or you can wait for it to restock. The next best alternative price wise is £79.99 HERE (same but grey) which also feels like very good value and if you have Prime you can have it the next day. After that, the next price option is £109 HERE with adjustable up and down wind as the swishy thing. I’m so pleased that DH proved me wrong this time and we didn’t need a £300 Dyson after all. NB: I was so pleased with myself getting this in the bag ahead of Friday but doh - pressed publish instead of draft so here we are :-)
About to search the airplane name on Amazon!
Does it have lights on it?
We have similar & my DH, who can sleep right in front of the TV in full light show & sound mode, complains of the tiny blue light on the fan. I have to suffer
