Lisa Eldridge Kitten Lash Mascara Burnt Umber

It's brown Jim, but not as you know it...

[unpaid/sample] We do have to go into the nuances of brown here because not all browns are equal. I quite like a brown mascara but tend to opt for a dark brown which just edges away the harshness that black can bring. But, if you look across the brown mascara market, dark brown is pretty much all there is. So, is Lisa Eldridge's take on brown, Burnt Umber, filling a gap in the market or creating a new market altogether?

Kitten Lash Burnt Umber has more intensity than you might imagine from looking at it on mascara brush. And I love the way it has an almost reddish hue to it, although that doesn't translate to the lash look. If anything, I think in certain lights, it can veer a little bit aubergine.

I don't particularly like the Burnt Umber liner on me although if I had green eyes I might feel very differently - it's just not a deep enough colour for me to feel happy with it on my inner rims. The reddishness does come out in the liner and if I want my inner rims to be red, I'll go bright red. Oh, actually, I bought a bright red liner from Barry M - I love it but can't find the courage to wear it outside the house.

I think you'll find that Lisa Eldridge Burnt Umber Kitten Mascara is going to be plenty deep enough if you prefer a softer, warmer lash look. I know there is a big demand for brown mascaras - it's an on-going complaint that there just aren't any decent ones on the market and I get that.
