Lumene Liquid Blush Review

Mind how you glow...

[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] I often think Finnish brand, Lumene, has been a bit over-looked in the UK. Everything I’ve ever seen from the brand I’ve liked. I used their Natural Glow Foundation last year and it reminded me, in the best possible way, of the light touch of Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation. I bought it in Sweden (at the airport) where it is far more present than it is here but you can buy Lumene in M&S, Boots and John Lewis and various on-line outlets. I’ve also tried the Sleeping Cream which was just beautiful for waking up with a plump and hydrated complexion.

I have a couple of the Liquid Blushes here in Pink Blossom and Bright Bloom as well as the Liquid Bronzer and the Instant Illuminizer. I will take crème or liquid over powder any day of the week and I find that the more liquid the blush or highlighter, the sheerer it is.

I’m honestly so impressed with these – if I have one niggle it’s that the dropper doesn’t really work very effectively. No matter – I love the lightness on the skin which is almost fresh feeling and as the pigment is blended with skin care quality ingredients such as cloudberries (has anyone ever eaten a cloudberry? I am not sure even if they’re edible but they sound very nice indeed!) and willowherb it’s going to provide some hydration at the very least.

Highlighters are tricky waters the older you get (I find). While nobody is doing the Tin Man face any more that was such a trend on Instagram for far too long, bringing light to the face is so complexion enlivening but you can be too bright.

I have been caught out more than once using too much highlighter, thinking that I’d applied an appropriate amount and then making my way outside to discover as I catch myself in a shop window reflection that I am literally beaming with glow! My rule (that I don’t always follow but mostly) is to check your glow outside before you venture fully out – or use a daylight simulation mirror such as this Simplehuman one that I use HERE. And use a brush rather than your fingertips because diffusion is all. In the swatch above, bottom to top: Bright Bloom, Summer Glow, Rosy Dawn and Pink Blossom.
