I love these too. I'm on my first tube of this iteration. I found the original more hydrating. It is lovely to have the tints. I don't find these as good as the orignal for bedtime. I also loved more gloss in the original. Still happy with these, but I'm on the lookout for a bedtime balm in this price range.

I think you're right that the original was more hydrating. What about Lanolips as an overnighter?
