it's funny (not) how more and more beauty retailers are selling this as a weight-loss tool. Yes, Finns love their saunas and most homes have one, but for Finns it's never about weightless but a multitude of other benefits that regular sauna brings - improved detoxification, better immunity, better mood etc. And to be honest I'd rather go to the actual sauna than buy the sauna blanket - maybe it stems from the fact that it can never compare to the effect of the actual wooden sauna .)
So for me, I’d rather not step into an actual sauna (hair frizz for one reason, boredom for the other). I’ve found this so useful for muscle ache, back ache and IBS pain - it’s not something I’d entertain for weight loss. Personally, I think I’d have made it white or some kind of bright colour - it’s a bit like a body bag in sombre black 😂
Truth be told I don’t get bored in sauna, ad I always go with friends (as I have fine hair I don’t have the frizz peoblem & girlfriends with frizz just take a hair mask to sauna, which solves the issue). Agree that sauna is great for muscle pain & really helps the body to relax & you make a great point on colour - make it turquoise, green, Orange etc just not black like a body bag for morgue 🤪
The help for aches & pains is very tempting (inflammatory arthritis, fibromyalgia & CFS).
In reality I just need to use the sauna at the gym post exercise. Thing is the sauna is for all & being up close & personal with hairy blokes in tiny budgie smugglers is my idea of hell!
If your local sauna helps your pain, this probably will too but check in again at the hairy bloke sauna just to make sure it’s helping - if it is, or if heat helps generally, could be right for you. It’s heavy so depending on anyone’s strength level, help might be needed for set up. :-)
