Awww Jane, I feel so touched that you've included me in this. I'm in awe of the other great Stackers you've mentioned here. I saw it earlier on today but was on a series of Zoom meetings all day and was like did I really just see that .. BBB has mentioned me in her newsletter ❤️ I'll come back later to say ... THANKYOU!!!

Once again you've written exactly what I've been mulling over in my own head. I'm tempted with turning off the paywall and just letting people pay if they want to. I flip between this and having a few special things just for paying readers.

I've also started writing about my very late in life ADHD diagnosis journey and so far I've put one post about that behind the paywall. I decided to do that 1) because it is very personal and 2) that it might create a safe space for others on a similar path that maybe I can help a little. I don't know. I have so many questions about how much we can all afford for the writers we love to read.

I know I love it all waaay more on here than anywhere else right now whether I'm paid or not. Like you I'm just so so happy that people want to read what I write. I think we mentioned that didn't we when we bumped into each other in Marylebone? I'm saying that as if it's normal when in essence I was like wow what were the chances of that? 😆 xx

Paywall is tough but genuinely I do want to earn some money from what I'm doing because writing in varying forms has been my income for such a long time and I want to move away from other revenue streams eventually. I think everyone has to decide what's viable for them and make their choices and I just have to hope that my writing resonates enough to be chosen :-) It was lovely to bump into you :-)

Wow, absolutely honoured to be included in this, Jane - thank you so much - and so, so good to hear your take on the pay-per-post, and general trickiness of wanting to subscribe to all the stacks, but needing to keep some kind of cap on how much we're spending (as we would magazines back in the day), as it does all add up, you're right. There are so many on my wish list, still, and, with the boot on the other foot, as a "publisher" (!) I'm with you in navigating what feels like a fair path (so much more to say on this!) and, like you, I'm so thrilled by and grateful for every reader who chooses to sign up, whether free or paid. Gah, convo for another time!). So good to read about a few of your favourites, and thoughtful reasons for following (and I'm so sorry to hear about your brother-in-law, being there at the time, and what that must have been like). Most of all, RIGHT BACK AT YOU - love reading you here, and following you on Insta (those eyelashes would've ended up halfway down my face). XO

thanks Jenni! I think maybe they'll introduce a pay per post eventually but I think its down to choice about who you want to follow and what feels reasonable to spend on reading. I sort of think maybe the cost of a couple of books a month perhaps or a few magazines? But, its a bit like yes I'd like all the sweets in the shop but I can't reasonably have all the sweets in the shop! Choose two or threee for a pick n mix :-)))
